High Variance Slots
High variance slot games are high risk. You will find long mean periods where it seems that the slot is rigged, when in fact it’s just that it’s programmed to be high variance. The plus side is that every now and again you will hit a monster win. The down side is that you will probably need a sizable bankroll to ride out the mean streaks. In general, the expected return will be higher than low-medium variance slots, but so is the “risk of ruin” (risk of running out of cash first!). Play these only if you are loaded, or like an adrenaline shot but can take bankruptcy too! The ISIS slot is a great example of high variance. You can go weeks with virtually nothing, but like happened to me in 2007, you can suddenly hit just shy of $50,000 from a $12 spin (I got 5 scatters in the free spins for 600x with a 6x multiplier)!!
