Novomatic Slots

Some Novomatic slots are now available to play online at a few casinos. These include one of my all-time favourite slot machines, Book Of Ra, along with the equally excellent Lord Of The Ocean slot. There are a few others too – the comparatively disappointing Columbus slot machine, the excellent Katana slot machine (known in land-based casinos as “Shogun”) with it’s expanding wild symbols and the popular Lucky lady’s Charms and Xtra Hot slot machines.

Games like the Egyptian Experience slot machine, Dolphins Pearl and Pharaohs Gold aren’t yet available in online versions (as of Feb 2011) but it’s only a matter of time IMO.

Novomatic Online Slots: Katana

Posted By: Dave Letterman

Novomatic Katana SlotOne of the most popular Novomatic slots used to be Katana which has a Japanese theme with the Shogun himself being the highest symbol, the wild. In fact Novomatic originally had a game called Shogun I had seen in Casino Holland (land based) and guess what… it was identical to the Katana slot but for some reason, presumably licensing, they re-named it for online casinos. I’ve not seen Shogun for years but Katana itself is now on a few Gaminator machines in UK casinos and online at a few casinos like Sky Vegas and Quasar Gaming.

One notable difference between the online version of the Katana slot and the land version is that the online version awards 10 free spins while the land version usually offers 15. However, you get more expanding wild symbols on the online version during those free spins.

Novomatic Slots now on Mobile for UK Players.

Novomatic Mobile slotsAfter what seems like an eternity, Grosvenor Casinos (the land based chain that recently acquired Gala’s land casinos in the UK) have added 9 Novomatic slots to their mobile site.

Some of them will be familiar to regular casino players as they are direct from the Super V+ Gaminator machines found in land-based casinos while 3 of the games will probably also be familiar to FOBT players.

In addition to the Novomatic games, Grosvenor also offer slots by IGT and other developers on their mobile product so overall it’s a pretty decent option when it comes to mobile.

Here is the full list of the new Novo slot machines just added:

      Rainbow Kings
      Reel King
      Just Jewels
      Lord of the Ocean
      Lucky Lady’s Charm (Deluxe)
      Sizzling Hot (Deluxe)
      Plenty on Twenty
      Dolphin’s Pearl Deluxe

All of these games are also available on the Grosvenor Online Casino website for desktop, PC, MAC and laptop players as-well as on tablets and smartphones.

Novomatic, Aristocrat & IGT slots all in one place!

Land-based slot machines, online

Where to play the top land-based games online, all in one place!

In this day and age with just about every slot game developer now having their games available in a number of online casinos, it’s proven pretty difficult to find a casino that has all of the best land-based slot machines in one place.

I’m a big fan of games like the Novomatic “Super Gaminator” games Book Of Ra, Lucky Lady’s Charm and Katana and I like some of the older IGT slots like Cleopatra and Pharaoh’s Fortune, Kitty Glitter and even Rainbow Riches from time to time. When I am overseas, Aristocrat games like Where’s The Gold and Pompeii also lure me in as do WMS games like Wizard Of Oz, Zeus II and Raging Rhino.

Online however, I have only come across one casino that has Novomatic, IGT and Aristocrat slot machines: BetVictor is a well-known UK bookmaker primarily and has stealthily built up it’s online casino into a very comprehensive games site. It is a “no download” casino, so all the games are played in a browser but Book Of Ra and Lucky Lady’s Charm sit alongside Pharaoh’s Fortune, Cats, Kitty Glitter, Cleopatra and the aforementioned Aristocrat slots.

Indian Spirit in the Heart Of The West End

Posted By: Dave Letterman

So there I was last night, sitting in the rather eloquent and celubrious setting of the new Hippodrome Casino in London’s West End, bashing the button of a Novomatic Gaminator machine which didn’t seem to like it very much. I’d just come round from Napoleons Casino on Leicester Square where I’d sat, bashing the button of a Novomatic Gaminator machine which didn’t seem to like it very much.

I felt a theme developing. So I decided to try something radical and play a game I wasn’t so familiar with. Step forward, Indian Spirit.

I had come across Novomatic’s Indian Spirit slot before, briefly – online at Star Games – but I hadn’t played it for long before getting winked at by my favourite Super Gaminator games, Book Of Ra and Katana which sit alongside Indian Spirit. If you play Novomatic games, you may have already noticed that I tend to be drawn towards sadistic, money-hungry monsters that promise the world but rarely deliver anything more than a small lump of rock in the middle of a cold ocean masquerading as an escape from reality. High volatility…yup, that’s what sucks me in!

New Novomatic Casino – Review

Posted By: Dave Letterman

If like me, you frequent UK or European land-based casinos regularly, it probably won’t have escaped your attention how many Novomatic Gaminator machines there are now. The reasons I assume are two-fold: firstly the games are a bit of a cult in certain countries and secondly, in countries where space or licences limit the number of machines available, the Gaminators being multi-game machines means a casino can offer more choice in less space.

Following on from that increase in exposure it seems natural that Novomatic slots should start to become more prolific online but until recently, that hasn’t really been the case with their slots being limited to 3 or 4 casinos. In 2012 however, we have seen a few more Novomatic games being licenced by bigger brands like Sky Vegas and Grosvenor Casino for their online websites and now we have a new kid on the block – OVO Casino – which is practically a Gaminator machine in itself!

Novomatic Slots Online: Lord Of The Ocean

Posted By: Dave Letterman

One of the more recent Novomatic slot machines to come to online casinos (notably Sky Vegas) is the cult land-based slot game, Lord Of The Ocean. For those of you that have played the Book Of Ra slot, the Lord Of The Ocean Slot will be a little familiar, not because of it’s ocean-going theme, but the gameplay.

Note: Novomatic slot machines do not support US Dollars so if you are going to play them online, do not register an account using the USD currency or you will find the games do not load!

Lord Of The Ocean is a 9 line slot where the feature round is trigered by getting 3 or more scatter symbols in view. Not quite as easy as it seems as this is a relatively high variance slot game. The scatters also – like Book Of Ra – double up as wild symbols so getting them on reels 1 -3 is ideal!

Book Of Ra Slot & Pharaohs Fortune Now at Grosvenor Casino

Posted By: Dave Letterman

Grosvenor Casino (renamed from “G Casino” in Q3 2011, owned by the Rank Organisation and the online outlet for the land-based Grosvenor Casinos) have recently added a plethora of new slot machines to the Games section of their website (while the casino section has a new download casino supplied by Playtech). Some of the new slots are from IGT, others from Novomatic and the latest batch of slots include two of my own favourites: Book Of Ra (Novo) and Pharaohs Fortune (IGT).

Note however that because Novomatic slot machines like Book Of Ra do not always support the US Dollar currency, you shouldn’t sign up an account in USD or the games will not load (and you can’t change the currency after you have signed up!).

Land-based casino goers will probably be familiar with both these slot machines. Book Of Ra (along with the similar Lord Of The Ocean slot) has a unique bonus round where one symbol gets turned into an expanding scatter symbol. While high variance and with a difficult-to-hit feature, you can get some great wins on this. In fact, playing at Empire Casino in Leicester Square (London Clubs) only this week I hit an £1,800 bonus round off a £1.50 bet!
