Gladiator Slots Review (Playtech)

Oh. My. God! I saw the Gladiator slot at the ICE show on the Playtech stand in a kiosk and thought “wow”. Coulda played it for ages. And now…it’s come out online at Playtech casinos such as the excellent Bet365 (where I play). I don’t know where to start LOL. I’m trying to write this and play the damn thing at the same time and it ain’t easy!

Anyway, as slots go, I’m gonna put my rep on the line and say that you won’t see a better slot game come out in 2009! The graphics are stunning, the gameplay smooth, the music is great…the whole thing oozes class, but it’s the gameplay that will ultimately prove whether the Gladiator slot can fight with the best. And it’s good. It’s very good! If you don’t believe me then you can play the Gladiator slot free in your browser and see for yourself.

There are two bonus rounds, both trigerred by 3 scatters. One is the “Gladiator Bonus” (original name or what?!) and triggerred when the 3 “Wild” Gladiator symbols on reels 2,3 and 4 appear together, while the other is the “Coloseum Bonus” triggered by 3 Coloseum scatter symbols anywhere in view.

The killer aspect of the Gladiator slot is the free spins provider – the Coloseum bonus. The spins themselves are nothing spectacular but there is a real unique feature that only Playtech seem to use right now. At random, the free spins bonus can change an exisiting symbol into a scatter symbol. This is where the real big wins can come in, especially if you get the 9, 10, J, Q, K or A symbol converted as they can appear more frequeuntly. Get 5 in view and its PAYDAY!

Needless to say this isn’t a terribly regular occurence but it’s part of what makes the Gladiator slot a groundbreaking slot machine IMO. Playtech have actually also implemented this “extra scatter” idea in another slot – Rome & Glory which is highly volatile, but very good.

If you want to check Gladiator out, try it at Bet365 Casino (no Americans, but Canadians accepted) as they have a huge range of games, are very safe and pay out fast.
