Microgaming Slots

Frustratingly for Americans, no Microgaming casinos except for Intertops currently accept US players - a result of the US gambling laws that are in a total mess right now, and even they don’t accept 18 of the US States. It’s a shame because Microgaming slots are the best out there in my opinion, and while US players can play RTG slots, they aren’t quite as graphically rich and there is less choice. For anyone else, then I would recommend Microgaming casinos for slots play any day of the week, not least because there is so much choice, the payout percentages are all 94% plus and the casinos hemselves are strictly licenced and rarely pose a problem.

In May 2010, Microgaming have pencilled in the release of the new Thunderstruck II slot which will be eagerly awaited by online slots players I’m sure. Well…it is by me anyway LOL. A new microsite, dedicated to the Thunderstruck II slot has been launched where the first screenshots will be available to view.

All we know at this stage is that it will look and feel very different to the original. There are four different types of free spins bonus and 243 payline in the style of IGT’s Multiway system. Early indicators suggest it will be more akin to the Tombraider 2 slot in the way it plays than the original, but we’ll have to wait and see…

The Avalon slot machine from Microgaming is another of my regular stop-offs at [32Red]. Released in early 2006, it’s a 20-payline free spins slot with a variable multiplier, following in the footsteps of the “Kathmandu” slot from 2005. It was one of Microgaming’s first “coin display” slots which I personally hated (everything showed in coins rather than credits) but thankfully they have since  added an option to choose which way it displays (go to “Options” and tick the “Show As Credits” box), although this doesn’t affect the “win counts” as shown in the picture below.

Isis is not a slot for the faint-hearted! It’s a high variance slot from Microgaming with a lot of small-paying symbols and the occasional monster, along with a potentially lucrative free spins bonus round offering up to 30 spins at 6x multiplier. The slot was developed in 2005 by Microgaming and has become a real “love it or hate it” slot on the forums. Me? OK…I confess, I love Hitman. I didn’t think I’d see a day where Microgaming came up with a slot that dragged me away from Thunderstruck on a regular basis, but I was wrong. It took 3 years, but finally they did it. That said, it’s had a mixed opinion on the forums - seems like Hitman is a “love it or hate it” slot, but no points for guessing where I lie. It’s medium-high variance, which suits medium/high rollers better, but that’s why I love it: lots of big win potential among the lean spells.
